Our strategy is to own and operate essential energy infrastructure assets in emerging markets and to grow our business through a combination of greenfield development and acquisitions of existing businesses. Our strategy contemplates that this growth will be executed in a disciplined manner that creates shareholder value. Clear criteria for growth We have clear criteria to prioritize the growth opportunities and allocate capital to the projects that present the best risk-adjusted returns. These opportunities may reinforce our existing business lines, result in synergies with existing operations, and/or further enhance our diversification from a geographical, business segment and risk standpoint. Playing a role in development Our focus in any given market is to establish critical mass to become a key participant in the market and successfully manage the relationships with key stakeholders and play an important role in its development.
Local presence A key component of our success in business development is our local presence. Our management team, including the local managers in each of the countries in which we operate, has extensive experience in the energy industry, with an average of approximately 18 years of service. As a result of this on-site expertise, AEI can effectively identify and respond to opportunities for growth in the markets we serve.
A seasoned team In addition to our local development efforts, AEI relies upon a team of seasoned development and acquisition professionals to source growth in new marketplaces. Contact our Business Development Team.
